Namaskaram I am Ravichandran, grandson of Late Shri Jagadeesa Iyer ( Therku Theru) from Kandamangalam and son of Late Shri. J. Nataraja Iyer. I am at present residing in the US at Phoenix, AZ. Our family deity is Shri Malaya Marungar ( Iyanar) and Shri mangalamba samedha Shri vamsodharahar ( Shivan) temples at Perungalur, Pudukkottai district. many of us from Kandamangalam village have the same family deity. The Kumbabishekam of these temples were performed in 1997 ( after abreak of more than 100 years). Now we are planning to perform the Kumabishekam again in 2012. According to aagama sastras, kumbabishekam has to be performed atleast once in 12/13 years, to retain the devine power in the temples. Shri. Vamsodharhar temple was bult bythe Chola King, Kulothunga Chozhan 3rd. He did not have any progeny and was commanded by Lord Shiva in his dream to build this temple and pray. He was blessed with a male child by Lord Shiva. Hence Lord Shiva in this temple is named as Shri
